It won around 90% of the 175 seats.〔Nohlen, D, Grotz, F & Hartmann, C (2001) ''Elections in Asia: A data handbook, Volume I'', p479 ISBN 0-19-924958-X〕 Voter turnout was 93.6%.
It was the second partially free election after Poland in the Autumn of Nations.
